The HAT Resident Company grows to new heights!

After the success of our summer HATCH program and a recent growth in local community theatre, the HAT is excited to advance our Winter Resident Company program to include a special tier specifically designed for Ages 10 - High School, focused primarily on professional production.

Over 10 weeks, participants will receive professional training and creative direction as they prepare for a full production of the beloved Broadway hit: Seussical the Musical.

This production will be directed by HAT Artistic Director, Wesley J. Colford, with Music Direction by Barb Stetter, and Choreography by Lesley MacLean. MacKenzie Sechi will be acting as Assistant Director and Associate Producer. Casting will be split between the High School and JR Divisions of the 2019 HAT Resident Company.

Twice a week, participants will meet to rehearse singing, dancing, and acting in preparation for the big show. The program culminates with a one week Intensive during March Break (March 18 to 22) which will include extended daytime rehearsals for Tech and Dress... leading to the Opening Night of Seussical the Musical on March 22.

Participants must be available during March Break. The production will run performances on March 22, 23, and 24 (all participants must be available these dates).

Regular rehearsals for the JR Division will run on Thursday nights from 3:30 to 5:00PM starting January 17, 2019 and Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 starting January 19, 2019.

Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for Principal roles as required.

Participation is limited to 25 participants for the JR Division (Ages 10 to High School). Registration is accepted on a "first come, first served" pending payment of Registration Fee. Once registered, participants are guaranteed a role in the production of Seussical the Musical. All casting will be based on audition for all confirmed participants, which will take place January 12, 2019.

NOTE: Participants must have turned 10 by March 22, 2019.

There are some Dance roles available and interested parties with Dance background are highly encouraged to register!

Registration Fees: $250 (includes March Break Intensive - more than 75 hours over 10 weeks)

PLEASE NOTE: 5 slots will be held for Scholarship Participants. If you are unable to afford the Registration Fee but would like to still be considered for the program, please inquire at our Box Office for an application for Scholarship (902-565-3637). 5 participants will be chosen for each division based on audition in January.

The program also includes an invitation to the private Dress Rehearsal preview of "See Jane Run", a new musical by Lindsay Thompson on March 11.

Limited registration! Sign up today to avoid disappointment. First come, first serve.
