High School Production Class

The HAT Academy introduces... Production Class.

After the success of our summer HATCH program, Seussical the Musical, and the recent growth in local community theatre, the HAT is excited to advance our Winter Academy programming to include a special tier specifically designed for Grades 9 to 12, focused primarily on preparation for professional production.

Over 10 weeks, participants will receive professional training and creative direction as they prepare for a full production of the beloved modern hit: Disney's Frozen JR.

This production will be directed by HAT Artistic Director, Wesley J. Colford, with Music Direction by Barb Stetter, and Choreography by Lesley MacLean. Casting will be split between the High School and JR Divisions of the 2020 Winter Production Class (please note, this is a separate stream from the regular Resident Company classes and requires separate registration).

Once a week, participants will meet to rehearse singing, dancing, and acting in preparation for the big show. The program culminates with a one week Intensive during March Break (March 16 to 20) which will include extended daytime rehearsals for Tech and Dress... leading to the Opening Night of Disney's Frozen JR on March 20.

Participants must be available during March Break. The production will run performances on March 20, 21, and 22 (all participants must be available these dates).

Regular rehearsals will run on Friday nights from 4:00 to 7:00PM starting January 17, 2020. Because of the abridged nature of the rehearsal scehdule, it is imperitive that participants be available for the vast majority of rehearsals as scheduled as well as the March Break intensive (including daytime rehearsals).

Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for Principal roles as required.

Participation is limited to 20 participants for the High School Division (Grades 9 to 12). Registration is accepted on a "first come, first served" pending payment of Registration Fee. Once registered, participants are guaranteed a role in the production of Frozen JR. All casting will be based on audition for all confirmed participants, which will take place January 5, 2020.

There are some Dance roles available and interested parties with Dance background are highly encouraged to register!
