Advanced Acting for Teens with Wesley J Colford

This intense acting course for teens will immerse young performers in a variety of acting styles and techniques with an emphasis on script analysis, breath work, voice & text, movement, and more. Actors who are passionate about their craft looking to advance their personal practice will be challenged with strategies and tactics that they may not have considered previously.

This is a skill-based class which will cater specifically to the needs and challenges of the participants. Wesley will draw from 5 years of theatre school training to create a nurturing environment for young actors to take risks and challenge themselves as they develop their creative voice and process.

For teens between the ages of 13-18.

Advanced Acting for Teens will run on Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 6:00PM starting September 30th, 2021 and running for 8 consecutive weeks.

If necessary, a make-up class will be scheduled during regular class time the week of November 22nd.

Registration is accepted on a "first come, first served" pending payment of Registration Fee.

Wesley has the great honour of being the inaugural Artistic & Executive Director of the Highland Arts Theatre. Since founding the company in 2014, they have produced more than 80 local productions, several of which they also wrote, directed, or performed in. They work frequently with the Savoy as well and are a graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Sheridan College and has studied at the George Brown Classical Acting Conservatory Program. Favourite Directing Credits include: Matilda the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, Dream, Disco Nights, & A Tribute to the Rotary Show Favourite roles include: William (See Jane Run, HAT), Barfee (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, HAT), Duncan (Punch Up, HAT), Prince Charming (Into the Woods, The Savoy), and Hamlet (Hamlet, CBU).
