In the spirit of communion and good cheer, join the HAT family for a special night at the theatre you won't soon forget... where the star is YOU!

For our second year at the HAT, it's Sing-a-long Sound of Music!

We're calling all Nuns, Goat herders, Hills, Alps, Baronesses, Brown Paper Packages Tied up with String along with all of your favorite things! Follow the bouncing ball for a special screening of the classic 1965 film where the lead singer is the audience and the hills aren't the only thing alive with the sound of music. The entire audience will sing along with Maria, Captain Von Trapp, and all the children for some good-old-fashioned holiday fun and nazi-stomping.

For more than 20 years, NBC aired the Sound of Music every Christmas and now we're giving you the chance to see this classic film as it was meant to be seen: on the big screen, with a popcorn and beverage, and belting your heart out in a room full of strangers (separated, of course, by 6 feet or more).

Hosted by one of our favourite HAT performers, we'll make sure you know when the songs are coming up and subtitles will ensure that everyone knows the lyrics. You don't have to be a good singer, only enthusiasm is essential. Plus a little bit of gusto. As long as you know that Doh is a deer (a female deer), you'll be fine!

Costumes are not mandatory... but they are encouraged.

We're hoping this classic musical will be a new part of our Christmas tradition, make it your family's tradition too.

December 17th at 7:00PM

Admission only $15 plus HST - popcorn not included!

Book your seats in early to ensure admission

COVID-19 Protocols:

Please note: Protocols may be updated to reflect current NS protocols

We are very grateful to have had such low cases of COVID-19 in Cape Breton, however, it is essential that we do not become overly relaxed or complacent. We will be complying with all provincial and federal recommendations and guidelines (and then some!). Please be advised that protocols could change at any time pending provincial order or increased risk.

Starting October 4th, the NS government has outlined that all patrons must be able to show proof of double vaccination for COVID-19 in order to be admitted. Hand sanitizer will be required upon entry. Masks will be mandatory upon entrance and throughout performance, with the exception of when eating or drinking. All facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between performances.

We are committed to keeping our audience, staff, and artists safe and secure. If you have any feedback or concerns, please feel free to contact us at: info@highlandartstheatre.com

Thank you so much and see you soon at the HAT!
