Highland Arts Theatre Presents
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
By Jane Austin
Adapted & Directed by Lindsay Thompson
It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. But Elizabeth Bennet is convinced that only the greatest love could induce her into matrimony. When the wealthy and amiable Mr. Bingley arrives to the neighborhood he brings with him the proud and disagreeable Mr. Darcy. While Lizzy’s sister Jane is swept up in romance, Lizzy is holding her own battle of wits spanning ballrooms and parlors as she desperately tries to avoid her mother’s matchmaking and take control of her own life. When disaster strikes, Lizzy finds help from the place she least expected. But can two people really change enough to deserve each other? A comedy of family, love, humor, and mistaken first impressions.
Jane Austen’s classic re-told by one of Cape Breton's finest playwrights.
