Improvisation for Adults with Alex Poirier

Ever wish you could be on Who's Line is it Anyway? This class is for you!

Acclaimed performer, Alex Porier, will lead you through a series of exercises, theatre games, and prep work as you work through the process of the basics of improvisation. It’ll be fun, low-pressure, and will hopefully get you out of your comfort zone. No experience necessary! You might like this class if you’ve taken: Adult Resident Company or Acting for Adults.

Alex Poirier has been performing since the 7th grade, when he was cast as an anthropomorphic adjective in a school play about French grammar. Since then he has performed in a variety of theatrical and improvisational productions across Canada and Europe, including at Yuk Yuk's Stand-up Comedy locations in Ontario and the East Coast and the famed Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. His television and online work includes featured roles in spots for TSN, the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Capital Records, and Green-Up energy drinks. Recent HAT performances include: Tough Call, The Best Brothers, Little Shop of Horrors, West Moon, The Drowsey Chaperone, and The Return of the Cape Breton Liberation Army.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Classes for Improv for Adults will run on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30PM starting September 27th and running for 8 consecutive weeks.

If necessary, a storm day make-up class will be scheduled during regular class time the week of November 21st.
