Are you a dancer looking for a space to continue dancing with advanced peers outside of the competition space? Then we have just the class for you.

Brush off your dancing shoes with this new course designed for people who have a minimum of 8 years dance experience (though maybe haven’t been dancing regularly for some time). Whether you’ve recently graduated from your dance school or are looking to get back into dance shoes after an extended break, we’re here to get you back on the dance floor and dusting off those grande jettés.

Andrea Vokey leads you through a variety of steps and combinations with something for everyone, with an emphasis on jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, and a variety of other styles. It’ll be challenging, fun, low-pressure, and will hopefully get you back in your comfort zone.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Advanced Dance for Adults will run on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:30PM starting September 20th, 2023 and running for 10 consecutive weeks.

If necessary, a make-up class will be scheduled.

Registration is accepted on a "first come, first served" pending payment of Registration Fee.

Andrea Vokey, started dancing at the age of 2 at Cape Breton School of the Arts, and currently has 27 years of experience in many styles of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and musical theatre. Andrea is an ADAPT certified dance teacher, with eleven years of teaching experience with local dance schools and HAT Academy’s programs. Andrea has choreographed shows at the Highland Arts Theatre, Savoy Theatre and Boardmore Theatre. Theatre credits include, Holiday on Christmas Island, and Little Shop of Horrors (HAT), Rocky Horror (Savoy Theatre), and Oliver (Boardmore Theatre). Andrea has performed in shows including Beauty and the Beast, and Grease (Savoy Theatre), and as well as Heart of Steel and Rotary Show (HAT). Andrea is looking forward to sharing her love of dance once again with the students of the HAT Academy.
